Kersh: A Little Bit of Everything

I’ll confess that I’m no risk-taker when it comes to fashion and I hardly ever have any interesting outfits, but I love that this year’s Spring and Summer trends are so eclectic and how different styles and pieces can be worn to create a mash-up of new and unique looks. Not one trend is particularly dominating this year, and it encourages creativity and experimentation when it comes to this season’s must-haves. Kersh’s Spring and Summer ’11 collection embodies this eclectic trend so well, so I collated my favourite looks from their Look Book. Kersh (www.kersh.ca) is Vancouver-based and they are known for their laid back, fresh, and sexy styles. They’ve been on my radar since last fall when we purchased tickets to go see their show at the Empire Landmark Hotel for Vancouver Fashion Week. Unfortunately, the show got pushed to a later time and even though we sat through gorgeous collections from Chiyuki Sugimoto and Simin Haute Couture, I was mildly disappointed that we didn’t get to see Kersh on the runway and in the flesh. Their S/S 11′ collection features bold and bright colours mixed with textures and Aztec patterns, florals overlapping white, neutrals and cargo green, sheer bodycon maxis, paperbag shorts, and harem pants. There’s a mix and match between fun, romance, the West Coast, bohemian and hippy chic, and the 70s when Kersh’s pieces are put together. Eclectic to a tee (and so effortlessly too).
LOOK OUT for Kersh,

I can see myself wearing some of that.. but not all, especially those bright orange/yellow bottoms. =P
